Lensbaby 3G

Lensbaby 3G is the hybrid love child of an old fashioned bellows camera and an up-tight tilt-shift lens. Lensbaby 3G allows precise focus control, longer exposures, and repeatability. With Lensbaby 3G you can lock the lens in place by pressing a button on the focusing collar. Then you can fine focus, using a traditional barrel focusing ring.

Featuring a low dispersion, multi-coated optical glass doublet, the Lensbaby 3G delivers images with a tack-sharp sweet spot. Aperture settings range from f/2 to f/22.

Focus your Lensbaby 3G by compressing the lens with your fingers until your subject comes into focus. Then you can move the sweet spot of sharp focus around the photo by bending the lens.

When the sweet spot is sharp and placed where you want, press the Locking Button on the Focusing Collar to lock your Lensbaby 3G into place. You can then make precise adjustments to your focus by rotating the Fine Focusing Ring, just like a manual focus lens. You can also adjust the sweet spot’s placement by rotating the metal rods.

Lensbaby 3GPL

Lensbaby 3GPLDream sequence, hallucination, drunken reverie, fading memory — the creative possibilities are endless with the Lensbaby 3GPL. Add a completely new dimension to your creative toolbox with one simple lens.

Like its still camera predecessors, Lensbaby 3GPL allows filmmakers to bring one part of their frame into sharp focus; a ‘sweet spot’ surrounded by gradually increasing blur. You can move the sweet spot of sharp focus anywhere in the photo by bending the lens.

The Lensbaby 3GPL will work directly on 16mm or 35mm PL mount motion picture cameras. If you have a video camera, you will need to buy an adapter – either a PL adapter (for use with Lensbaby 3GPL) or an SLR mount adapter (for use with a regular SLR Lensbaby 3G). Focus the 3GPL by compressing and bending the lens manually. The area of focus can be locked into a fixed position by pressing a button. Then, using a traditional manual focus mechanism, camera operators are able to follow focus or fine-tune the focus at a fixed position. The photographer also has the option of bending and compressing the Lensbaby 3GPL freely—without locking—for a spontaneous, selective focus effect.

Photographers can also mount a variety of 37mm or 52mm threaded accessories onto the front of the Lensbaby 3GPL, including wide angle and telephoto conversion lenses, filters, and hoods. Please note that the Lensbaby Macro Kit will not work on the Lensbaby 3GPL.
